PRINCIPAL LEADERSHIP

DAVID SHANKS—FOUNDER & PRINCIPAL ARCHITECT David founded Shanks Architects in Dallas in 2006, bringing with him more than fifteen years of specialized experience in church planning and design. His philosophy—that buildings should nurture genuine human connection, not simply house activity—is the conviction at the heart of everything the firm does. A recognized thought leader in community-focused architecture, David challenges conventional thinking about what a building can be and who it can serve. He leads with curiosity, designs with intention, and believes every project is ultimately a question about belonging.
